Public.com

Public.com is a brokerage that supports stocks, options, index options, and crypto. Build automated trading strategies using TradersPost on top of your Public.com account.

The Public.com integration is in BETA and you may experience issues that we have not discovered yet. Public.com does not offer paper trading through this integration, so start with small live sizes while you validate your setup. Market Data

Public.com provides market data through their API, so TradersPost uses Public.com quotes and instruments for accounts connected to Public.com.

Authentication

Public.com accounts are connected to TradersPost using OAuth. To connect your account:

  1. Navigate to your dashboard and click Connect Broker.
  2. Choose Public.com from the list of available brokers and click Connect Live.
  3. You will be redirected to Public.com to log in and authorize TradersPost to access your account.
  4. After you authorize, you will be redirected back to TradersPost and your Public.com account will be connected.

TradersPost automatically refreshes your access token, so you do not need to manually reconnect when your token expires.

Limitations

  • Public.com does not support paper trading through TradersPost. Only live connections are available.
  • Closed order history is not available from the Public.com API yet, so the closed orders list is hidden for Public.com connections.
  • Crypto on Public.com is quoted in USD. TradersPost maps Public.com crypto symbols to pairs like BTC-USD.
  • Complex / bracket orders are not supported.
  • Public.com supports SPX, NDX, XSP, and VIX index options.
  • Public.com lists only the PM-settled index series, so every SPX and NDX expiration — including the third Friday — comes back under the SPXW and NDXP roots rather than the AM-settled SPX and NDX roots. TradersPost uses whichever root Public.com returns for the expiration you pick.
