Submit a saved signal template from the app

Sending a saved signal template used to mean pasting its JSON into Submit Signal or filling out the form again, so sending the same signal again took several steps. Now each saved template, on the strategy dashboard and on Submit Signal, has a Submit button. It shows the signal and asks you to confirm before it goes to your strategy, the same way a signal from Submit Signal does. To use a different price without editing the template, enter it in the confirmation, and it applies to that submission only.

See Signal Template Creator for creating and saving templates.

Subscribe several broker accounts to a strategy at once

Connecting one strategy to several broker accounts used to mean creating the subscription again for each account. Now, when you click New Subscription, you can select several accounts on the account step, and TradersPost creates one subscription for each. They start disabled, so you can review each one before you enable it. When you create subscriptions, a strategy's subscription limits now count disabled subscriptions as well as enabled ones.

See Subscriptions for the steps.

Sign up with Google without a password

Signing up with Google used to make you create a TradersPost password during setup as well. Now setup skips it, and you sign in with Google. To add a password later, click Set Password on the Security page under Account, then Send Link, and TradersPost emails you a link to set one. Signing up with an email address still asks for a password during setup.

Take-profit and stop-loss orders stay when a signal places no order

With Cancel existing open orders before placing new orders on, a signal that placed no order could still cancel the open orders on your position, such as its take-profit and stop-loss. An exit skipped by Ignore exit signals, for example, left the position open without its protective orders. Now, when a signal plans no entry and no exit while a position is open, TradersPost leaves your open orders for that ticker in place, and the trade says so. To cancel them anyway, send "action": "cancel" or "cancel": true.

See no-cancel-no-order-planned in the reference manual.

An explicit limitPrice sets the order's limit

When a signal sent both price and limitPrice, the order's limit came from price and the limitPrice you sent was ignored. Now limitPrice sets the limit for limit and stop limit orders, on entries and exits, when Allow signal override is checked next to Entry market price type for entries or Exit market price type for exits. If limitPrice is empty or not a positive number, the limit still comes from price, and price stays the signal price on the trade.

See limitPrice in the Signal Message Reference.

Enhancements and fixes

  • Signing in with an authenticator app code is quicker, and the Login button on the two-factor page reads Verifying… while your code is checked.
  • The website, docs, blog, and app load much less JavaScript when a page opens, and images further down website pages load as you scroll to them.
  • Each saved signal template's Copy, Edit, and Delete buttons now show their names on hover and to screen readers.
  • The strategy form's Any IP addresses choice is spelled correctly, and the reference manual's TradingView, TrendSpider, and IP address messages now point to the Allowed IP addresses setting.
  • An open P&L of exactly $0 now shows as $0.00 in gray on your Subscribed Accounts, your account dashboard, and your broker account cards instead of being hidden, and an account whose broker cannot report open P&L shows a dash.
