A clearer path to getting started

The homepage now opens with a centered introduction and two clear choices: Start for free or See pricing. We've shortened the page to focus on the essentials. Existing links to /start take you to the homepage.

Cap how much of one ticker an account can hold

Broker connections now have a Ticker Quantity Limits card. Add a row per ticker — up to 25 — with the largest quantity you are willing to hold and what should happen when an order would take you past it. Reject order blocks the order. Reduce to max trims a quantity-based order so the resulting position lands on the maximum.

Enter underlyings, futures roots, and crypto pairs such as SPY, NQ, or BTC-USD, rather than individual option or futures contracts. Everything you hold on that underlying counts toward the limit whatever the expiration or strike, and long and short both count rather than cancelling out. On accounts that trade both stocks and stock options, Applies to lets you set a separate maximum for shares and for option contracts. Limits are stored separately for live and paper, so set them on both if you trade both.

A blocked trade shows Max Quantity Per Ticker, and a trimmed one shows Max Quantity Per Ticker Reduced. This limit is enforced on a best-effort basis using the position data available when the trade is planned, so signals arriving at nearly the same time for the same symbol can each be planned against the same snapshot.

See Brokers (Connections) for setup, what to enter for each asset type, and worked examples.
